I dunno, I don’t see anything wrong with it…
President Donald Trump signed an executive order yesterday aimed at finally doing something about price gouging when it comes to buying tickets for concerts and sporting events.
Of course this is an issue everyone can get behind, because we all know what a disaster the ticket-buying process is these days. You log on to Ticketmaster and see a ticket for $50, and by the time you’re ready to check out the price has nearly doubled from all the fees they tack on. And that’s not to mention all the bots that buy up tickets and immediately list them for resale for two or three times their face value, keeping them from getting in the hands of actual fans.
The executive order directs the Federal Trade Commission to “take enforcement action to prevent unfair, deceptive, and anti-competitive conduct in the secondary ticketing market,” and also seeks to ensure that scalpers are complying with all laws and go after those who aren’t.
Obviously this isn’t going to fix the problem overnight. But during the signing ceremony, Trump was joined by Kid Rock who applauded the executive action as a good first step:
“Ultimately I think this is a great first step. I would love down the road if there would be some legislation where we could actually put a cap on the resale of tickets…
I want the fans to have fair ticket prices, to be able to go enjoy more shows. I’d like to take my ticket price lower, but if I set my ticket prices low, these bots immediately eat them up and they resell for hundreds of dollars more and I’m just making these bad actors rich.”
Of course I’m not sure whether anybody was actually paying attention to what Kid Rock said, because it seems like everybody was just obsessed with the flashy suit he was wearing.

Trump was even asked about the jacket that Kid Rock was wearing, and joked that he was thinking about wearing it himself:
“I don’t know, I was thinking about doing it for tomorrow. We have a big event coming up and I was thinking about doing it.”

After the event, Fox News reporter Peter Doocy even joked with Kid Rock about the jacket.
The president asked Doocy whether his predecessor Joe Biden ever held events like that in the Oval Office, and Doocy joked that it was definitely one of a kind:
“He was never standing next to somebody that looked like they were about to be shot out of a cannon.”

Honestly, he nailed it.
Kid Rock obviously got a kick out of the joke, laughing and walking over to shake Doocy’s hand. But of course, despite the fact that pretty much everybody agrees action needs to be taken on the price of concert tickets, some liberals were upset by Kid Rock’s attire in the Oval Office – or at least pretended to be on social media:

Marjorie Taylor Greene's boyfriend, Brian Glenn, was the "reporter" in the Oval Office screeching about President Zelenskyy not wearing a suit.
But he doesn't have a problem with Kid Rock dressing like a ringmaster in the circus yesterday.

Of course many contrasted it with the criticism of Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy for not wearing a suit when he visited the White House recently. But I don’t think Kid Rock is engaging in any multilateral negotiations while asking the president for billions of dollars to protect his country.
Kid Rock is an entertainer, the whole ceremony was focused on the entertainment industry, and it clearly brought a ton of attention to the issue. Seems like the suit served its purpose…and triggered quite a few liberals along the way.
