Single and content.
This month, Megan Moroney sat down for an extensive feature with Rolling Stone, where she talked about moving to Nashville and how she managed to transition from influencer to country music star, as well as her love life, which has been a hot topic among her fans for years now.
She confirmed that, yes, Riley Green was in St. Bart’s at the same time as her, but they ran into each other, and were just hanging out as friends and nothing more. She also talked about how, she doesn’t think she could’ve been in a relationship during the last year of her life,
Megan says it’s been a full year since she broke up with her last boyfriend, a “regular finance dude,” in 2024, and she is thankful she didn’t have to spend anytime “crying over a dude” with everything she has going on. She says she’s always had bad taste, and she even recalled breaking up with a boyfriend in fifth grade to date one in eight grade who was a “bad boy” failing his classes:
“I could not imagine going through the past year if I was upset and crying over a dude. I feel like I’ve always had bad taste in men. I had a really sweet boyfriend in fifth grade, and I broke up with him because I wanted to date the eighth-grade bad boy who had failed a bunch of times.… I don’t know if this song will make my next album, but an opening line is ‘I know how to pick them. Copy, paste.”
While she’s not had great luck yet, Megan does eventually want to find love, and she has been inspired by how Miranda met her NYPD husband Brendan, as well as Lana Del Ray, who recently married a normal guy from Louisiana who she met on a swamp tour:
“I love that for her. Go get you a country boy, girl!
But if you any of you guys reading this want to get her attention, you might wanna try the old fashioned way… she doesn’t do Instagram DM’s, and she’s definitely NOT giving out her Snapchat:
“I’m too old for that!”
As someone who is her exact age, I felt that…
Megan has previously said that she intends to remain single while on tour this year, as she’s gearing up for her extensive Am I Okay? tour which is named for her 2024 sophomore album and fan-favorite song. She will first head to Canada next weekend before heading pretty much all over the United States until October.
It’s tough to be an artist and have a somewhat normal, stable relationship, much less if you’re as successful and busy as she is… plus, having everyone so invested in her every move in terms of men has got to be annoying for her (she’s nice about it, though), but I think there’s plenty of guys in all of the cities who will try to shoot their shot, so to speak, one way or another.
Her full lost of 2025 tour dates are below.
