Koe Wetzel’s Riot Room Teases February 28th Surprise In Forth Worth, Texas

We are in the single-digit countdown to Koe Wetzel Day, AKA February 28th.

After the day of love on February 14th, the love birds get pushed aside for a day of celebration for all of the sad country music lovers out there. The major holiday coined by Texas rockstar Koe Wetzel is “February 28th, 2016.”

We all know the legendary story of the song, when Koe was arrested for public intoxication in Stephenville, Texas, and wound up spending a few nights in jail. Nine years after the event that leads Koe to the drunk tank, he has noted that he’s over singing the song during his concerts.

“To be honest with you, I’m so ready for that f***ing song to just be done… but we still play it at shows and it’s like, what most people come to hear.”

He told Dale Brisby on an episode of Rodeo Time last year. However, Koe’s love/hate statement has not deterred fans from their love for the track. It’s the one song off Noise Complaint that almost all Texas country fans know. Even if you aren’t a Koe fan, odds are you know the chorus to the famed track.

“Singin’ la-la-la-la, let’s pull overI can’t hold it, will you turn the music up?And let’s play critter critterWho is sober enough to take me to Taco Bell?”

Where To Celebrate The Holiday

Wetzel fans are thrilled this year because the holiday falls on a Friday, which means Koe Wetzel debauchery levels are sure to occur.

Fans are already preparing their minds (and their livers) for a wild Friday night out, and some of those folks’ plans might include sitting in a garage blasting the song while pounding beers and whiskey. For others, it might mean heading over to Koe Wetzel’s Fort Worth bar.

Koe Wetzel’s Riot Room is teasing that a surprise is in store at the location on February 28th. Given that Koe frequents the bar whenever he can, I would not be surprised if this meant he would appear on the grounds to greet and interact with fans.

“Y’all thought last year was a good time… Just wait until you see what we have in store.”

Last year, Koe Wetzel held a pop-up meet and greet at a Fort Worth Taco Bell (fitting) before he headed to his bar, where he appeared with Leon Bridges and was presented with a plaque for his certified platinum record “Drunk Driving.” Also fitting for the holiday… but we do not at all condone that action.

Whatever Riot Room has in store is sure to be a wild time. The bar perfectly blends a honky tonk with a club scene, screaming Koe’s personality throughout every inch of the West 7th Street location.

For any of the brave souls going to Riot Room next Friday night, y’all might need some Jesus after…
