Not exactly pitch perfect.
Megan Moroney just performed her fan-favorite song on the 58th Annual CMA Awards, singing title track to her sophomore studio album Am I Okay?, and she looked absolutely stunning both performing and walking the red carpet earlier:
But fans were quick to point out that her vocals were… off, to say the least. It’s hard to tell whether something was wrong with her in-ears or the audio for the TV didn’t translate right, but she definitely didn’t sound great, I’ll be honest… and I say that as a huge fan of hers.
Here’s a short clip:

Fans reacted on X, and most of them weren’t rave reviews… but hey, it’s a big deal to perform on live TV for the CMA Awards, so if Meg was nervous, I can’t fully blame her, and many fans seemed understanding of that too:
Is the mixing off on Megan Moroney’s mic? #CMAawards

I think Megan Moroney is a fantastic songwriter, but her vocals fall short.

#CMAawards Megan Moroney is beautiful. But my gosh she’s got to work on the vocals, especially those low notes.

@CountryMusic show starts strong with a great pick of “White Horse” by Chris Stapleton for single of the year, then starts to come unraveled with Megan Moroney followed by Shaboozey…who thinks Shaboozey is country? 🙄

Megan moroney just preformed at the cmas and I think she was sick because she DOES NOT sound like that live….

Enjoying @_megmoroney’s performance…She sounds a little out of breath, but at least it’s live and authentic. #cmaawards
