Taking fans into the hunt.
Dear season is in full swing in most states around the country, and hunters everywhere hope to bring home a trophy buck this year. During deer season, as tours for the year begin to die down, your favorite country artists will soon be finding themselves back in the stand (if they haven’t already been out to the woods), hoping to fill up the freezer and perhaps even get a mount for the wall.
Koe Wetzel is an avid outdoorsman. When he’s not on the road, he’s spending any free time he can get in the woods or on a boat. Earlier this year, he participated in the Bassmaster Classic Celebrity Pro-Am alongside pro angler Matty Wong, and even shared some photos of an insane mountain lion hunt in Colorado.
“Last week I bought a one way ticket to Colorado to check off a bucket list hunt of mine. This trip had a lot of ups and downs but it was all worth it in the end. I can’t thank Hunt Nest and Clay Hill enough for making it all happen and putting me on this once in a lifetime mountain cat!”
After Wetzel shared a little insight from his hunt, fans filled up the comments section. They were impressed with the hog of a mountain lion he took down and requested that Koe share more about his hunts.
Ask, and you shall receive. Koe Wetzel gave fans a whole vlog’s worth of hunting content from an Illinois bow hunt last year, one of the best states in the country for whitetail hunting. Koe and his crew headed to his deer lease in Springfield and then headed to some friends’ land to try and get it done.
Wetzel takes his fans into the stand with him as he scores a nice-sized buck with a bow. While waiting for the buck to appear, naturally, he was tuned into the Cowboys game, and although the Cowboys might have let him down on the field, he left with a much bigger prize. After Wetzel took down the buck with a beautiful shot quartering away, he was stunned that he placed the arrow perfectly into the animal’s side.
“Did you? Dude was f***ing popped. Oh, thank you, Lord, oh my gosh… He shouldn’t be lying very far. I’m freaking out right now.”
Wetzel was shaking with excitement after taking down the buck. He and his crew watched the footage of the shot before going out later that night to find the buck.
“Hey, let’s f***ing go. Is he down? Let’s f***ing go!”
Wetzel gets down to examine his prize buck and takes some notes on his shot. He notes that it was a little far back for his liking, but given how stiff the deer was, it signifies that he’s been down for a while, so the shot was still very effective.
Wetzel left Illinois with a beautiful buck.
