A record- breaking weekend for Morgan Wallen.

The Tennessee native headlined two nights at Neyland Stadium over the weekend, no doubt the highlight of his career thus far considering he’s a die-hard Vols fan from east Tennessee. And of course, he had plenty of his artist friends there to surprise the crowd during both nights, including Eric Church, Miranda Lambert, Darius Rucker, Hardy and Ernest.

Of course, it’s no surprise that he packed the stadium (which is the sixth largest college football stadium in the United States) out on both nights, as he’s been selling out stadiums all over the country this year and these two shows in particular were extra special considering they were hometown concerts.

In fact, the weekend made history as Knoxville’s largest weekend on-record, totaling a whopping 156,161 fans across both nights. That number surpasses the record previously held by iconic band The Jackson 5, who had three shows totaling 148,407 in 1984.

Yeah, when you’re breaking records from The Jackson 5 set 40 years ago, you’re doing something right…

Morgan said he did his best to make it as intimate as humanly possible with that many people at one show, saying he wishes he could still look everyone in the eyes like he used to at much smaller shows back in the day:

“One thing that I miss though about the smaller shows is I could walk out on stage and I could look pretty much everybody in the eyes, so this is my attempt at trying to recreate some of that.

To come back here and look some more of y’all in the eyes and say thank you for supporting me and my music.”

There’s no questioning that Morgan is at the top of his game right now, the biggest act in country music, and I think this weekend proves that… if there was anyone still wondering.

Additionally during the show on Friday, Morgan announced that his already fan-favorite unreleased song “Love Somebody” will be out everywhere on October 18th.

Morgan also donated $140k to Gibbs Youth Sports (GYS) ahead of the concert, which will go to renovating Ruritan Park, which is used by students from Gibbs High School (where Morgan attended), and surrounding areas in Knox County.

He has just three more stops on his One Night At A Time 2024 tour, which are all make up shows that were rescheduled from earlier in the summer, one in Tampa at Raymond James Stadium on October 4th, and two consecutive nights at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte on October 18th and 19th.

How about Peyton Manning walking out with Morgan in his college uniform… good stuff:

Here’s some of Morgan and Miranda singing “Thought You Should Know,” the song they wrote together with Nicolle Galyon:
