“The Boys Do It All The Time” – Carly Pearce Kicked Fan Out Because She’s Tired Of Being Afraid To Stand Up For Herself

Good for Carly Pearce for standing up for herself.

In case you missed it, over the weekend, the Kentucky native was performing at WE Fest, a country music festival in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, ahead of headliner Parker McCollum, when the show got a little sidetracked.

According to radio personality @IanOnAir, Carly was introducing a song and said something to the effect of “I’m gonna tell you a little about myself,” and some scumbag in the crowd allegedly said “no one cares.”

And unfortunately for him, Carly heard him. And she WASN’T having it. She bounced his ass in a hot second, tearing him a new one on the way out:

“Somebody get him out of here, I do not want him at my show. Get out of my show.

If you’re gonna be an a**hole, you’re gonna have to say it to me and then get the f**k out of my show. I do not have time for dicks… see you later.”

She followed it up by saying that it was the first time she’s ever removed a fan from the crowd, and then taught on lesson on treating people with kindness and respect. I thought it was a pleasant surprise to see a female country artist (other than Miranda Lambert, who I love) stand up for themselves in this way. I think women in general tend to be more willing to let things like this go (and are probably encouraged to by their label when it comes to artists), and a lot of the time that’s probably the smart move, but on the other hand, they shouldn’t be criticized for simply not putting up with nonsense like that, either.

And in an interview with radio host Ashley Morrison on iHeart Country/US 103.5 this morning, Carly explained that she doesn’t think her throwing out that man for being disrespectful is any different than the boys in country music who kick people out all the time… just search through our website and you’ll find tons of videos of fans getting kicked of many different concerts, and usually deservedly so.

Carly said that her “Kentucky came out full force” in that moment, because that comment struck a chord with her for whatever reason, and she’s tired of people not getting “reprimanded” for things like that. Ultimately, she’s just “tired of being afraid of standing up for myself” and I couldn’t agree with her more:

“I guess people are learning a new side of me, but the boys do it all the time, it’s no different. If somebody’s going to show disrespect at my show, get out.

And I think so many people think that they’re not going to be reprimanded for their actions, whether it’s writing on Reddit and spreading hate, or writing on your comments spreading hate, in your DMs spreading hate, or to your face spreading hate, and I just, he hit me in a moment where my Kentucky came out full force.

And I’m just, I’m so tired of being afraid of standing up for myself.”

I think it’s an important message for women, and men, in any industry, and if this is a new side of Carly we haven’t seen before, I hope we get to see more of it… well, without her having throw some jerk out who’s being rude.

Carly recently put out an amazing new album called Hummingbird, and announced a world tour that will kick off later this year.

Clearly, the a** who yelled at her hadn’t listened to “truck on fire” yet:
