I am sure that you hear a wide array of rumors when you are in the public eye.
Riley Green is no stranger to having fans do crazy things. From throwing bras on stage to even panties, and with plenty (including ourselves at times) snooping in his love life, he has seen a wide array of wild actions. But this one Riley Green shared over the weekend takes the cake for the wildest rumor he’s heard about himself.
Over the weekend, Green performed at Watershed Festival in George, Washington. Aside from blowing the audience away with his performance and surprising the crowd with a Zach Top duet of Toby Keith’s “Should’ve Been A Cowboy,” he spent his time talking to media outlets off stage. I personally love these non-music-related questions. It’s an excellent opportunity for fans to learn a little more about who they are outside of the lyrics they sing.
Gabe Mercer, from The Seattle Wolf, chatted with Green and asked him about the craziest rumor he’d heard about himself. Green did not disappoint with his answer.
“This guy came up at a meet and greet in Canada somewhere. And had a picture of this guy that he thought was me that tried to pick his mom up. There’s a TikTok of it out there. And he like came up and was like, ‘You tried to hit on my mom at Kid Rock’s bar.’ It wasn’t me in the picture, but he was so sure.”
Mercer then asked Green if the kid was coming at him from a place of anger that “Riley Green” was hitting on his mom.
“No, he was like happy about it. Like he was really close to trying to, like, call me Dad.”
While I am sure there are many folks out there who would like to call Green a form for Dad, coming from a man was not what I would expect. (If you are not catching my drift, add an extra “dy” at the end of that.)

Sure enough, Riley Green posted a video of the interaction on his TikTok last year. Green was adamant it was not him to the fan, who quickly looked embarrassed. When he flashed his videographer the fan’s phone, the only resemblance in the image was the hair color and beard.
I guess it’s flattering to think that Riley Green would hit on your mom…but this was Wiley Creen.
