Cracking cold ones and having a grand old time.
Today, Post Malone released the new music video for his song with Blake Shelton “Pour Me A Drink,” which is featured on Post’s forthcoming F-1 Trillion album.
You see Posty and Blake hanging out in a field, pouring drinks and living their best lives, with plenty of girls and booze to go around. Like the song itself (which honestly sounds like something Blake might’ve released in 2014), it’s a little cliche, but I have hope that Posty has some more substantial stuff coming on the full album.
Overall, though, the production on “Pour Me A Drink” is super catchy and fun, but the song is a little bit lackluster in terms of the lyrical content using some very typical, obvious country topes, that find Malone and Shelton lamenting the tough work week ready to have an ice cold beer:
“Fourty hours got me goin’ out my mind
Dallas dropped another game in overtime
Caught a ticket speeding down the 65
Don’t know where I’m goin’
Guess I really went and messed it up again
Now, my baby’s goner than the Tulsa wind
Judgin’ by the stone-sober state I’m in
Need to crack one wide open”
I have to give them credit and say I know this will be another fan-favorite, instant hit, perfect to blast out on the lake or for whatever outdoor activity you have going on all summer long.

After revealing the album cover art last week, we also now know that Posty’s country project will feature 18 songs in total (they show up when you pre-add it), though only two songs are available at the moment, which includes this new one as well as “I Had Some Help” with Morgan Wallen.
Post has of course been teasing, and releasing, several country songs from the forthcoming country album, and his aforementioned song with Morgan Wallen “I Had Some Help” (which is the lead single) has been #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for five straight weeks. They’re looking at a potential sixth week, but the official numbers will be out later today.
He also teased another new one the other week called “She Ain’t Yours,” and I can’t wait to find out what other songs made the final cut. Posty has been pictured in the studio writing with the likes of Morgan, Ernest, Luke Combs and some of Nashville’s most prominent writers, which means we’re likely in for some great stuff and maybe even a few surprises.
Posty has teased a duet with Luke, as well as a solo classic country heartbreaker called “Never Love You Again” that I am already obsessed with, so we’ll see soon if those all made the final cut.
