Kid Rock Under Fire For Dropping Racial Slurs, Waving A Gun During Interview With Rolling Stone

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: Kid Rock has found himself in the middle of some controversy.

The outspoken rocker, whose real name is Bob Ritchie, has found himself as one of the most outspoken entertainers on the right of the political spectrum, and he’s never really cared who he offends.

He’s often spotted with former President Donald Trump, and was one of the first celebrity endorsements for the 45th president during the 2016 campaign. And last year, Kid Rock found himself as the face of the boycott on Bud Light after the company came under fire for partnering with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.

Kid Rock knows that he’s a controversial figure these days, but he’s made it clear that he doesn’t care who he offends. From going on rants against “woke” politicians, drunkenly exclaiming that The View host Joy Behar can “suck dick sideways,” or his Twitter rant claiming that Taylor Swift would “suck the doorknob off Hollyweird” for the chance at an acting career, Mr. Rock knows that he’s pissed off a lot of people along the way, but calls himself “uncancellable” because he just doesn’t care:

“I am uncancelable… because I don’t give a fuck…

I’m not in bed with any big corporate things at the end of the day, there’s nobody that beholden to, no record companies no corporate interests no nothing, you can’t cancel me.

I love it when they try.”

And he also made clear that he’s not really worried about being canceled in a recent interview with Rolling StoneBut he still has people up in arms over some of his comments.

According to the article from reporter David Peisner, the interview at Kid Rock’s Nashville home started out “pretty cordial.” But after Rock had a little bit to drink and started to get comfortable, Peisner said that things went “way off the rails.”

“He’s sitting in a dark leather chair, shouting at me about something or other, when he reaches behind the seat, pulls out a black handgun, and waves it around to make some sort of point.

“And I got a fucking goddamn gun right here if I need it!” he shouts. “I got them everywhere!””

Rock then began discussing the Republican party freeing the slaves in the 1800s, and when Peisner pushed back, the rocker dropped a racial slur in his response:

““I know where you’re going with this, and I’ll tell you why I don’t,” Ritchie says. “Because Trick Trick, the hardest-hitting n—-r in Detroit, was like, ‘Dog, you had that shit right. We need Trump.’ I’ll call him right fucking now.”

He dials his phone, but Christian Mathis, the pioneering underground Detroit rapper who goes by Trick Trick, doesn’t pick up. Ritchie turns back to me. “I’m telling you. These dogs are calling me like, ‘Yo, n—-r, you had that one right!’” (Mathis didn’t respond to subsequent messages asking for confirmation of his support for Trump.)”

Peisner claims that “these are not the only times Ritchie drops the n-word,” questioning whether it was “the rantings of a drunk racist” or whether Kid Rock was trying to get a reaction, or trying to bait the reporter into writing a hit piece that would allow him to rail against cancel culture.

Well Kid Rock may not be worried about cancel culture, but that didn’t stop the internet from expressing their outrage at the interview:

Of course many also point out that Kid Rock also has a son, Robert James Ritchie Jr., who is half black:

Regardless, it seems obvious that Kid Rock doesn’t care too much what anybody thinks, as evidenced by his interview with Rolling Stone:

““Would you do me a favor?” he asks, practically whispering. “Just write the most horrific article about me. Do it. It helps me.””
