Parker McCollum is back in the studio.

Right after the announcement of him taking Kyle Field in June with The King himself, George Strait; Parker McCollum kept the good news flowing on social media yesterday. He informed fans that his 5th studio album is in the works.

Parker took to Twitter to share his excitement about what has been cooking up in the studio.

“Studio tomorrow. Crazy to be recording my 5th studio album.

I know for 100% fact that these songs and this record is the best I’ve put together since the kid. Took me a long time to get back to this place as a songwriter. Feels good to be happy about my songs again.”

For those who do not get the reference, he’s implying that this is the best collection of songs since his debut album, The Limestone Kid, from 2015. With that album being the home for heaters like “Meet Me in the Middle,” and “High Above Water.”

While I am beyond excited to hear that we could be getting new music like this, The Limestone Kid was a helluva debut album from McCollum and some fans are worried this might be a lofty promise. Example A:

Time will tell, but given that McCollum has consistently released good music throughout his career, I am sure this record will feature some great songs, regardless.

McCollum better add a fireplace to his studio… about to be spending a lot of time in there making this record come to life.
