Remember the days when Aaron Rodgers was just referred to as an NFL quarterback?
Now he has all kind of different titles, like ayahuasca enthusiast, Jimmy Kimmel rival, conspiracy theorist, and most recently (and arguably most shocking) potential vice president. It has been speculated that Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is running for president as an independent, could pick the NFL quarterback as his running mate for the 2024 election.
What a wild group of candidates we’ll have to pick from if that happens. Just imagine seeing Kennedy Jr./Rodgers on the ballot come November…
Obviously, news outlets have been eating up those rumors, which in turn has continued the incredible run that Aaron Rodgers has had. What run, you might be asking? To either appear or be discussed on TV more than when he was actually playing NFL football. Ever since he tore his Achilles, he’s been on a roll.
But while MSNBC was talking about Rodgers and RFK Jr., one broadcaster was on whatever is the opposite of a roll. Katy Tur was talking about Rodgers and the issues that could come with him as a running mate, and suggested that Mike Rowe, the man made famous by the show Dirty Jobs, could be a better VP pick.
Tur first laid out some reasons why the New York Jets quarterback wouldn’t be a great fit, and then spun it into how Mike Rowe could have some interest in the position. However, when talking about how he could help bring in more voters, she had a little slip up in her phrasing:
“There’s been some reporting by other outlets that he doesn’t believe that Sandy Hook happened. He said it was a hoax, that no kids actually died. He’s on the extreme end of things.
What about Mike Rowe? Someone who’s also been floated (around), and Mike Rowe has come out and said, ‘I’m not going to talk about discussions.’ But he said he likes RFK Jr., and like some of his ideas regarding work.
Would Mike Rowe as his running mate help him suck off voters… or suck up, excuse me. I’m going to be on the internet now. God. Suck up anymore voters?”
While Katy Tur was trying to make an election prediction, she also correctly predicted that she would be on the internet after that mistake. Congrats Katy! A slip up like that, especially one that could be considered NSFW, will definitely turn into some viral clicks.
And remember folks, RFK Jr. wants to pick someone as his vice president that would help to suck UP voters, not… whatever Katy Tur said. Just want to make sure we have that right.
