Applebee’s & IHOP To Open “Dual Branded Locations” & Reactions To The News Have Been Hysterical

America, the beautiful.

When you had cravings for pancakes and cheap alcohol in the past, you had no choice but to go to two separate locations. That’s an absolute travesty, and a travesty that doesn’t look to be happening for that much longer.

That’s because the subpar restaurants of Applebee’s and IHOP are reportedly set to join forces and open “co-branded locations” after some ventures outside of the United States proved to be successful. I imagine they were are probably thinking:

“Hey, our establishments both have 2.5 out of 5 star ratings, and if we come together and share a restaurant, that’ll get us to 5 stars.”

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big fan of Applebee’s and IHOP. There’s not a better eatery out there to get hammered at than Applebee’s, and there’s not a better breakfast place out there to soak up all of the alcohol/hangover than IHOP.

The parent company that owns both American chains says that they plan to roll out the co-branded locations (think of the KFC/Taco Bell combos you’ve been to before) in the United States in the near future. That’s a huge win for people who have ever wished to enjoy a dollarita and a pancake at the same time.

The news of the planned merger might not seem that life-changing to you, but it certainly has struck a chord with the online community. Are they actually excited about the co-branded locations, or are they just happy to have another thing to turn into memes? Only time will tell I suppose.

By the looks of it on social media, this is the biggest combo news since “Barbenheimer” had its moment last summer. It seems like people just love to put two things together that don’t necessarily have that much in common?

Applebee’s and IHOP joining forces could be a profitable and lucrative decision when it’s all said and done, though I am a little worried about how safe the joint venture will be considering some of the online commentary on the Applebee’s and IHOP combo:
