NASCAR Fans Aren’t Happy After Walker Hayes Announced As Talladega Pre-Race Concert

Was Eric Church busy or something?

It seems like every time there’s a sporting event that needs a country singer to perform a show they call Walker Hayes. He completely drowned out the announcers during halftime of the AFC Championship game back in 2022, then performed at the NHL Stadium Series later that year.

And earlier this year, college football fans brutally roasted his performance ahead of the national championship game. Then just a few weeks ago, Walker again performed at the NBA All-Star game, because apparently there’s no sport who thinks their fans don’t want to hear “Fancy Like” live and in person.

Seriously, how does he keep getting these gigs? (And this is nothing against Walker personally. He’s a good dude, and he’s always taken it well when we’ve busted his balls. I would have a beer with him anytime over a lot of country artists that I listen to regularly. But man, he needs to give his agent a raise for getting him all these spots).

Well Talladega Superspeedway just announced their infield concert for the night before this spring’s NASCAR Cup Series race, the GEICO 500, and I’ll give you three guesses who it’s going to be. And the first two guesses don’t count.

Yep, it’s Walker Hayes.

And it didn’t take long for fans to sound off in the comments.

Brutal.

But I have a feeling the fans at ‘Dega will find a way to have fun no matter who’s performing…
