The Rock Kicks Off The 2024 NASCAR Season With Electric Command Ahead Of The Daytona 500

Can we just have The Rock give the command every race?

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is serving as Grand Marshal for the 2024 Daytona 500, and stuck around an extra day after the race was postponed yesterday due to rain.

But it seems like he’s enjoying his time in the NASCAR garage.

Johnson met with media yesterday, where he spoke about similarities between his wrestling personality and Denny Hamlin embracing his role as the villain in the NASCAR Cup Series:

“Being the villain is the greatest thing in the world. It truly is in my world of professional wrestling. I was aware of Denny and getting booed and I’m also impressed with how he has embraced it…

One of the cool things that being a great bad guy and a great villain offers – and this is my advice to Denny – not only do you embrace it but also you get the opportunity to say and do a lot of things that people can’t. A lot of people wish they can but they don’t, so you don’t have to. Let me and Denny do the talking and get the boos.”

And after finally giving the command to start the engines, I’d say everybody is glad The Rock was able to stick around for an extra day.

Just moments ago, the cars were finally fired up for the first time this season – and The Rock got us started with an absolutely epic command:

Let’s go racing, boys!
