The Joe Rogan Experience secures another multi-year deal with Spotify.
Just announced, the podcast that has been exclusive with the streaming service in 2020 has gained the badge as the most listened to podcast globally and has some exciting news.
Today, Spotify announced that Joe Rogan‘s beloved show will soon be available on other platforms.
Yes, you heard that right, no more searching for pirated clips of the episode on YouTube because soon it will be available on Apple, Amazon, and YouTube. Spotify does this in hopes of boosting ad revenue on its platform, along with boosting the revenue of the podcasters and creators that they support. The platform reported that:
“Since the podcast has been exclusive to Spotify, overall podcast consumption on the platform has increased by 232%.”
Spotify has declined to comment on the terms and agreement of the new deal, but Yahoo! Finance reported that it’s estimated to be worth as much as $250 million. While they got their information from the Wall Street Journal, which was stated to be incorrect.
Given how much media attention, star-studded hosts, and money Rogan has made for Spotify, one can only assume it is far from a small number.
