Is KW6 coming in 2024?
If I was a bettin’ lady, I’d put a few dollars down on it, I think…
Koe Wetzel teased a new project (or at the very least maybe a single) coming sometime this year, posting a photo on his Instagram page from inside the studio with a cryptic caption that, if I had to guess, might be lyrics from some sort of unreleased song he’s cookin’ up:
“silent sounds and bad tattoos.”
He also just announced some new tour dates for the Spring, a small west coast run, and likely has many more tour dates coming for 2024:
Koe released his last studio album Hell Paso in 2022, and has seemingly been writing quite a bit over the last 12 months, sharing photos from the Sonic Ranch working with some other great writers last year.
From working with Texas country staples like Wade Bowen and Randy Rogers, to some of Nashville’s best writers in Ernest and Ben Burgess, I’m really excited to hear what Koe’s been working on.
While it might not be (and honestly, probably won’t be), a full-blown country album in the sense that he previously hinted at, I think we’re in for another great project considering all the aforementioned writers who will seemingly have cuts on the tracklist.
Hell Paso was, from a production standpoint, a perfect blend of country, rock and grunge that I absolutely loved. It really felt like the most complete project, if you will, that he’s ever done, so I’m hoping he continues with that on his next album.
And seeing as he’s posting from the studio, it feels like we might be getting close to the rollout of some new music very soon.
