Now this would be absolutely terrifying.
Picture this. You’re enjoying a beautiful day on the ski slopes with your family and friends, and laughing y’all’s a**es off at each other for wiping out…
Until all of a sudden a MASSIVE snow-like tornado formulates out of nowhere, traveling directly at you at a high rate of speed.
Sounds like every skiers worst nightmare to be honest.
With that being said, a large group of skiers on the slopes in Breckenridge, Colorado witnessed this jaw dropping event live and in person.
In the video, you can see the incredibly rare moment when a snow devil, also known as a “snownado” violently rotates near the group of skiers.
As you can see, there are a couple of skiers who were caught up in the middle of it, as they had no time to react after it formulated.
“Snownados” are much less violent than tornadoes, but it’s a similar concept. Changes in wind speed and/or direction near the surface of the ground generates a vortex, and ultimately a tornado-like natural phenomenon.
Luckily, it appears that nobody got seriously hurt during this unexpected encounter. Nevertheless, it’s still a cool sight to see.
