New York Police & Fire Departments Team Up To Stop The Grinch From Stealing Christmas

In a world of endless sequels, we finally have a worthy continuation of How The Grinch Stole Christmas thanks to the New York Police and Fire Departments.

The brave men and women in uniform decided to change things up this Christmas, and at the annual FDNY Christmas Event in Staten Island, they staged quite the spectacle for the children in attendance.

I’d say everyone is pretty familiar with the story of the Grinch. Hell, even the title of the movie by itself (and the Dr. Seuss book it was based upon) pretty much sums it all up for us, minus the redeeming story at the end where he effectively “returns” Christmas.

So what do you think the person that was dressed up as the Grinch did at the event? Yep, you guessed it, they tried to steal Christmas. All of the toys for the children were bundled up in a big red sack, and just like in the movie adaptations (and children’s book), the ugly green monster picked up the bag and ran off with it.

And this is where we get into “sequel territory” for the story of the Grinch, because based upon the video we have of how it all unfolded, it doesn’t appear that this Grinch had a chance for self-reflection or redemption (or for his heart to grow three sizes). The better way to describe this version of the story would be one of the following potential titles:

-How The Grinch Got Slammed Up Against A Cop Car

-How The Grinch Finally Got Convicted For His Crimes

-How The Grinch’s Plan Was Foiled By The NYPD & FDNY

Before this Staten Island Grinch could get too far, a cop car pulled out in front of him. Officers jumped out of the vehicle, took the bag of toys back from “The Mean One,” and apprehended the Christmas stealer by slamming him down on the front of the cop car.

Nothing says “Merry Christmas” like seeing the Grinch’s head pushed down on the hood of a cop car and being read his Miranda Rights. You can view the hilarious display (that the kids will certainly remember forever) in the video below:
