Post Malone & Tanya Tucker Talk “Tight A**holes” & Writing Together During “Naughty Conversation” Backstage At The CMA Awards

Post Malone has always teased a country music project, and after last night at the CMA Awards, there has to be some “Posty Country” in the near future.

First of all, Post Malone absolutely brought the house down in a performance of “Pickup Man” with Morgan Wallen and Hardy. There could be an argument made (and possibly won) that Post had the best voice of the trio as they played the classic Joe Diffie song.

And if you listened to that collaboration and absolutely loved it, the good news for you is that it’s already being sent to country radio as a single. Could this be the country track that finally gets Post Malone to crossover into the country genre?

Considering how well received the performance was, I’d venture to say that country music fans would welcome Posty with open arms if he were to go full country. Based on what he told a reporter backstage at the CMA Awards, there’s a good chance something from Post Malone actually comes in the near future.

He was asked if he had a country album on the way, and he replied:

“I think so! Yes, ma’am.”

And if that’s not enough evidence for you, a video posted on Tanya Tucker’s account showed the “Delta Dawn” singer and Post Malone hanging out backstage at the CMA Awards. Though it was probably just a post for socials, there were some interesting conversational tidbits included that makes it sound like Tucker and Posty will collaborate on a country song.

Tanya, who was just recently inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, was excited to meet Post Malone backstage, and Post Malone was excited to meet her (and her dog) too. Although the conversation starts out a bit “naughty” when Posty asks Tanya about her assh*le:

“What was that you were saying about your asshole?”

To which, she replies:

“It’s really tight right now, but this is a naughty conversation you shouldn’t be hearing”

Tanya then, speaking both to the camera and her new musical friend in Post Malone, says:

“We’re gonna sing together. I’ve got a great place in Montana if we want to write it, we can just sit around and write something.”

Post Malone immediately shows excitement at the idea of working with Tucker, and while working around petting Tanya’s dog (who Tanya describes as “the gift that keeps on taking”), Malone responds with:

“That’s amazing. I would love that…

Let’s do it. I have some great songs that we’ve been working on. Let’s do it.”

Could we be getting an original song from Tucker and Malone? Or could we be in for some sort of “Delta Dawn” remix? Only time will tell, and it seems like we are getting closer and closer to Post Malone’s country record.
