“He Can Kiss My A**” – NC State Coach Dave Doeren Stuck It To College GameDay’s Steve Smith After The Wolfpack’s Win Over Clemson

Yoooooooo. NC State head coach Dave Doeren chose verbal violence toward Agent 89!

Apparently Steve Smith said something about NC State being a basketball school on ESPN’s College GameDay and picked Clemson to win. That triggered Doeren into an instantly iconic one-liner following a 24-17 triumph.

The best part about this is, The CW is going to have to patch Smith in if they want to talk to him. Because he ain’t in the studio. Smith doesn’t work for The CW. I’ll give this story a few beats just to see if The CW can get Smith on the horn for a response. I doubt it, but hey, a man can dream.

It really was an impressive victory for the Wolfpack. I know Clemson isn’t the powerhouse of yesteryear and that Dabo Swinney continues to suck, but the Tigers still boast a reputable program. There’s quite a lot of talent there. NC State got off the mat from a 24-3 loss at Duke and gritted their way to win this one.

Two critical plays helped the Wolfpack build a 17-point lead through three quarters. The first was a pick-six off by Payton Wilson off a tipped Cade Klubnik pass, followed by a 73-yard TD connection between MJ Morris and Kevin Concepcion.

That’s the type of stuff that will absolutely get your coach fired up and ready to attack Steve Smith. Me personally? Smith is one of the last humans I’d want to have any beef with. I’d be trying to make friends. Pretty bold flex here by Doeren to call him out like that, but good on him! His players will run through a wall for him at this point.

So yeah, a 5-3 mark for NC State. One win in the final four games will get them bowl eligible. Meanwhile, Clemson falls to 4-4 and I really don’t know what they’re even doing.

Credit some of the Tigers’ struggles to the Wolfpack, but Clemson fans have to be disturbed by what they’re seeing. What on earth are they doing offensively? They torpedoed the development of a former No. 1 QB recruit in DJ Uiagalelei. Now they’re doing the same with another blue-chipper in Cade Klubnik. Clemson’s implosion has been baffling to behold this season.
