Nicolas Cage’s New Movie ‘Dream Scenario’ Looks To Be MAXIMUM Nic Cage

Nicolas Cage

I might be biased since I like the guy, but it seems like Nicolas Cage has been making some really great choices with his films in recent years.

There for a while, the well-known actor was making some questionable decisions with his projects, and it appeared that he was going for “quantity over quality” for a period of time in his career.

Now, after a run of successful movies (like The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent) it seems as though the 59-year-old is instead only choosing scripts that really allow for him to shine, and this newest one looks to be maximum Nicolas Cage.

You might be asking what “maximum Nic Cage” means, and that’s a fair question. Basically, for a movie to be characterized as such, you need Nicholas Cage to do at least 3 of the below 5 things:

-Be involved in an over-the-top, zany premise (like stealing the Declaration of Independence)

-Scream at the top of his lungs

-Be a part of a strange twist, or even be responsible for the twist

-Be in danger, or put someone else in danger

-Be crazy, slowly go crazy, or be thrust into craziness throughout the film

This new project of his, called Dream Scenario, has the opportunity to check all of those boxes, which would make for an incredible movie.

Cage is set to play a man named Paul, who appears to be just a regular ole teacher/professor who suddenly starts to appear in people’s dreams all across the world.

IMDB describes the plot as:

“A hapless family man finds his life turned upside down when millions of strangers suddenly start seeing him in their dreams.

When his nighttime appearances take a nightmarish turn, Paul is forced to navigate his newfound stardom.”

Nicolas Cage showing up in people’s dreams, huh? Say less, I’m there.

Based on the trailer, which is phenomenally put together, the dream appearances at first start out mundane, but appear to become more serious as the movie goes along. Could that be the twist that every good Nic Cage movie needs?

I love a good movie that revolves around dreaming, which made me wonder…

Top 5 List of Movies That Involve Dreaming? Sure, we can do that really quick:

5- Dream Scenario (could move up the list once it actually comes out, and with Nic Cage at the helm, I’m sure it will)

4- Alice in Wonderland (Dorothy gets hit in the head and then goes to the Land of Oz, still counts as a dream right?)

3- Field of Dreams (doesn’t necessarily have dreaming as a central part of the movie, but it does have the word “dreams” in the title)

2- Nightmare on Elm Street (#1 cause of lost sleep in kids living during the 1980’s and 1990’s)

1- Inception (Leonardo DiCaprio, dreams within dreams, I mean come on, how could it not be number one?)

I’m really excited to see Dream Scenario move up that list, and now that I’ve watched the trailer probably 6 times in the last hour, I’m almost ready to go ahead and move it up into the top three and submit it for Oscar consideration.

Nicolas Cage is a national treasure (see what I did there?)…
