Last night, the New York Jets defeated the Buffalo Bills in epic fashion, walking it off on a punt return touchdown in overtime for a come from behind 22-16 victory.

However, it wasn’t all that great for Jets fans, as their new star quarterback Aaron Rodgers went down with what appeared to be an ankle injury on the first drive of the game. He didn’t return.

Although it was announced that Rodgers’ X-rays for a broken ankle came back negative, Jets head coach Robert Saleh said after the game that he believes the QB may have torn his Achilles tendon, meaning that he would miss the rest of the season.

I’ll admit, I’m not a big Rodgers fan, but he’s by far one of the most electric and most clutch quarterbacks in the game, and the NFL is more exciting when he’s playing, so I was hoping for the best.

But, according to ESPN, we now know that Rodgers has officially suffered a torn Achilles, and will miss the rest of the 2023 season.

Four plays, season over.

I honestly feel bad for Jets fans.

They finally get an elite quarterback for the first time in years, and he gets hurt for the year four plays into the season. Maybe Zach Wilson will finally live up to his first round draft potential, but after watching the last two seasons, it seems pretty unlikely.

Hey, there’s always next year…
