‘Lawmen: Bass Reeves’ Drops Intense Trailer, Set For November Release

Aside from Yellowstone, there may not be a show more highly-anticipated in the Taylor Sheridan universe than the upcoming Lawmen: Bass Reeves TV series.

Bass Reeves is regarded as one of the greatest lawmen in American history, as the synopsis reads:

“Reeves, known as the greatest frontier hero in American history, worked in the post-reconstruction era as a federal peace officer in the Indian Territory, capturing over 3,000 of the most dangerous criminals without ever being wounded.”

Bass Reeves is also the man who was believed to inspire the fictional story of the Lone Ranger.

On top of that, the upcoming series featured a stellar cast, including the likes of David Oyelowo as Bass Reeves, the first Black Deputy Us Marshal west of the Mississippi, along with Garrett Hedlund, Shea Whigham, Dennis Quaid, Mo Brings Plenty, Donald Sutherland, and more.

Needless to say, a show like this is exactly what we need as we await the release of the second half of Yellowstone season five. The Bass Reeves saga was initially positioned as a Yellowstone spinoff of sorts, however, it’s a completely independent story, where Taylor Sheridan serves only as the executive producer.

With that being said, we officially have a trailer for Lawmen: Bass Reeves, and it looks ELECTRIC.

The trailer kicks off with Reeves (Oyelowo) swearing in as the latest lawman in front of the judge, and as he continues to swear in, we’re taken through several action packed videos of Reeves laying down the law.

The show is slated to drop November 5th on Paramount+.
