Idiot Jasper National Park Tourist Walks Up On Bull Elk & Nearly Gets Gored

I’ll just never get it.

Considering I’ve grown up in the southeast my whole life, the only wild animals I’m accustomed to seeing are deer, hogs, and raccoons.

So, I can only imagine how awesome it would be to go to a national park and witness creatures like bears, elk, bison, mountain goats, rams, and more, considering I’ve never seen these animals live and in person before in my life.

However, never in a million years would I ever walk up within only a few yards of these creatures, because that’s asking for a death sentence.

National parks specifically warn all tourists to stay at least 25 yards away from the wildlife (sometimes even further), because the second these creatures feel threatened, the protective instincts kick in and they will come at you.

With that being said, here’s yet another example of a situation of at a national park that could’ve ended horribly.

This wild video went down in Jasper National Park in Alberta, Canada.

In the video, you can see some moron walking right up to a bull elk with a huge rack of antlers.

And why?

He’s holding a camera, so he’s obviously risking his life for the perfect Kodak moment. You know, grandpa really gotta share that picture with his 12 Instagram followers…

Sure enough, once the man gets uncomfortably close, the bull elk lowers its antlers, and nearly charges the guy, sending a couple warning shots his way.

Luckily, the man used the last bit of common sense he had to realize that he could get impaled if he keeps moving in, and he begins to run away. But only for a second… he hops back a few feet, never puts down the camera, and stays in the danger zone. Well, I suppose he’s safe if he can run 40 miles per hour (he can’t).

The guy better be happy the bull elk didn’t begin to charge him after turning his back, because that would’ve REALLY been bad.
