Taylor Sheridan’s ‘Lawmen: Bass Reeves’ Drops First Teaser

Bass Reeves
Paramount Network

Ever since the announcement, we’ve all been anticipating Taylor Sheridan’s upcoming series, Lawmen: Bass Reeves.

First off, the show boasts a stellar cast, featuring the likes of David Oyelowo as Bass Reeves, the first Black Deputy Us Marshal west of the Mississippi, along with Garrett Hedlund, Shea Whigham, Dennis Quaid, Mo Brings Plenty, Donald Sutherland, and more.

Reeves is regarded as one of the greatest lawmen in American history, as the synopsis reads:

“Reeves, known as the greatest frontier hero in American history, worked in the post-reconstruction era as a federal peace officer in the Indian Territory, capturing over 3,000 of the most dangerous criminals without ever being wounded.”

Bass Reeves is also the man who was believed to inspire the fictional story of the Lone Ranger.

The show is currently filming in Texas, and although we don’t have an official release date yet, it is expected to premiere sometime this fall on Paramount +.

With that being said, Paramount dropped the first teaser for the upcoming series.

In the short clip, you can hear Reeves (Oyelowo) introduce himself in one of the most bada** ways possible:

“I’m the law of this land… I’m Deputy US Marshal Bass Reeves, and your wicked days are done.”

And throughout Reeves’ introduction, you see several clips of the man himself taking law and order into his own hands.
