Classic country is written all over it.

Kameron Marlowe is getting back to the foundational roots of country music in his latest single, “I Can Lie (The Truth Is).”

He shared on Instagram.

“I grew up on classic country, so I’m pretty damn proud to put out a song that feels like something Waylon or Willie might’ve sang back in the day.

I Can Lie (The Truth Is) is out everywhere now. I hope y’all like it.”

He also notes in a previous post that this is one of his favorite songs he has ever released… I can see why.

It gives classic 2010 country vibes, that time in the genre where inspiration was so clearly drawn from the greats.

This tune gives off an old Cody Johnson or Josh Turner sound with a Texas flair.

The lyrics address all of the elements of a classic country song wrapped up in a perfect package. Lying, love, heartbreak, and an internal dialog from the narrator.

The lyrics of the chorus are so damn catchy and will get stuck in your head easily as he sings:

“Yeah, I can lie down beside you with nothin’ but leaving on my mind
Somehow I can love you and hate you at the same damn time
Oh, how can somethin’ so wrong, feel so good, and feel so right?
So when I promised you forever, the truth is, I can lie.”

And the deep twang in his voice makes the delivery silky smooth.

This one is a heater.
