They say the late, great Dale Earnhardt could see the air moving around the cars when he was out on the track.

Well Apple introduced their new virtual reality headset today, Apple Vision Pro, at WWDC23, the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference. And you can see a lot more than the air with the new gadget – but all people on the internet see are Dale Earnhardt’s goggles.

The Intimidator was known for wearing an open-faced helmet, along with black racing goggles to shield his eyes from both the sun and from debris. And when you put Earnhardt’s goggles beside the new Apple headset…well, you can definitely see the resemblance.

Of course Earnhardt’s goggles probably didn’t cost near as much as the Apple Vision Pro, which comes with a hefty price tag of $3,499. According to Apple, the headset is “a revolutionary spatial computer that seamlessly blends digital content with the physical world,” whatever that means.

But for all the work that’s been put into the latest innovation, all the internet sees is the Intimidator.

Dale Earnhardt proving once again that he was ahead of his time.
