Adding Luke Combs’ vocals just kicks this song up a whole other level.
Today, Riley Green released a reimagined version of his single “Different ‘Round Here” that features his friend Luke, who he’s currently opening for on Luke’s 2023 world tour.
The song was originally the title track to Riley’s 2019 debut studio album, and they stayed very true to the original production on this new version, as the two go back and forth on the verses and in the chorus.
Written by Riley along with frequent collaborators Randy Montana and Jonathan Singleton, he says it’s a track that has resonated with so many people who were raised similarly, and he and Luke decided to release it together after seeing the crowd reaction to it on tour in Canada last year:
“Ever since we originally released the song a few years ago, we have seen so many military families, athletes, and hard-working everyday people use the song in their own videos.
It has also been one of those songs that proud hometown fans sing along to the loudest, night after night.
While on tour up in Canada with Luke at the end of last year, we saw the same thing and it felt right re-releasing it together.”
He added that they’ve had a great time out on the road together, and it’s been really cool to experience playing stadiums after they both got their start in a lot of the same venues when they first embarked on this whole music thing around the same time:
“Touring with Luke has been a great experience. Both of us got started in a lot of the same venues early on and I’m excited to be out with him for more stadium shows this summer.”
The new duet will actually be Riley’s next single at country radio, and will impact this Monday, May 15th.
And purely based on Luke Combs’ track record of churning out consecutive radio hits, I would not be surprised to see this one do really well and maybe even go #1 at some point later this year.
Turn it up…
