There may not be a more recognizable name in women’s college basketball right now (besides Iowa’s Caitlin Clark, the best player in the country) than LSU’s Angel Reese.
Reese had a heck of a year for the Tigers this past season, ultimately leading them to a national title over Caitlin Clark and Iowa in dominating fashion, 102-85.
However, Reese has also drawn a lot of criticism too after mocking Clark’s John Cena “You Can’t See Me” celebration, after the Tigers defeated the Hawkeyes in the natty.
But with that criticism, there has been a lot of defense of Reese as well, some of it coming from no other than the LSU and NBA legend himself, Shaquille O’Neal.
O’Neal responded to sports talk show guy Keith Olbermann’s tweet, calling Reese a “f*cking idiot,” by saying:
“Shut your dumba** up leave Angel Reese alone.”
With that being said, Shaq has come to Reese’s defense once again, but this time, it was with a HOT take.
He said on The Big podcast:
“She’s (Angel Reese) probably the greatest athlete to come through LSU sports. You heard it here. Man and female.”
SHEESH that’s a bold take.
We’re talking about the likes of, well… himself, as well as Joe Burrow, “Pistol” Pete Maravich, Bob Pettit, Ben Simmons, Justin Jefferson, Odell Beckham Jr., Alan Faneca, Kevin Mawae, Ja’Marr Chase, Alex Bregman, Tyrann Mathieu, Lolo Jones and so many more.
Of course, these kinds of opinions are exactly what they are… opinions, so not everybody (more like nobody) is going to agree with it.
