Man Jumps In The Water After Fish He Almost Lost… And Actually Gets It

Pike catch

I can’t say I haven’t felt like doing this one before.

But, I can say that I’ve never went to that extreme…

Fishing is one of the oldest and most popular pastimes in the world. It’s a great way to get outdoors, enjoy nature, make lasting memories with friends and family, and depending on what you’re after, feed yourself.

One of the most exciting moments in fishing is when you finally hook a big one. The adrenaline rush and anticipation of reeling in one that is fighting with everything it has is unmatched.

But what happens when you almost lose that fish? Pure panic and fear.

That’s exactly what happened in this video.

In the video, a man is seen fishing from a small boat when he hooks into something. He’s reeling in to try and land what appears to be some kind of northern pike, and he gets out of the boat on shore to be more prepared for landing the fish.

As he reels in the fish, it starts flopping around near shore. The fisherman bends down to grab it, but unfortunately, the fish gets off (might’ve bit through the line as pike have pretty sharp teeth).

But the man isn’t ready to give up just yet…

Without hesitation, the man jumps into the water after the fish. He swims towards the fish, grabs it with his bare hands, and triumphantly holds it up for the camera as he makes his way back to shore.

He yeets it on the shore like an asshole (I could see if it was an invasive carp), but maybe he’s going to eat it and that’s the reason he’s so excited. Nevertheless, it’s not hard to take exception the move… whether you’re hunting or fishing, respect for the animal goes a long way.

Nevertheless, snagging one with your hand is pretty impressive.
