The Notorious Conor McGregor had a terrifying encounter earlier today while riding his bike on a very narrow backroad during a training session.
In videos posted to his Instagram, McGregor explains that he was hit from behind full-speed by a car who wasn’t able to see him due to the sun.
Fortunately, Conor seems to be okay for the most part, although rightfully quite shaken up.
He thanked his martial arts background for allowing him to adjust and hit the ground without major injury or even possible death.
“Got a bang of a car just now from behind. A sun trap, the driver couldn’t see me. Full speed straight thru me.
Thank you God, it wasn’t my time. Thank you wrestling and judo also. Having an awareness on the landing saved my life”
The drivers was rightfully very scared from the whole ordeal, but Conor appeared to be in a rather thankful mood and seemed to forgive the driver, saying it wasn’t hit fault.
The two eventually loaded the bike into the man’s car and he drove Conor home looking rather terrified.
I mean, the emotions of hitting someone with your car are enough, getting out and realizing it’s Conor McGregor, well that’s got to just make it worse.
“I’m here, what’s your name my man? Nick? Nick just smacked me with his car, we have the bike in the back… God bless… I’m still here, thank God.”
Wild… just absolutely wild.
Conor has yet to make his octagon return after shattering his leg in a fight with Dustin Poirier back in July 2021. Hopefully no damage was done in this crash that would further delay his return to the UFC.
Regardless of how you feel about him, there’s no denying the sport is better with him in it.
