Rainbow Trout Waterslide Used To Restock Lake In Washington State

Trout stock Washington

There’re some things that are just cool to see.

A tube filled with beautiful rainbow trout sliding their way to their new home is one of those things.

There are many fish stocking methods like the helicopter drop and the plane drop that we’ve seen.

As satisfying as those both were to watch happen, this big ol’ trout waterslide is pretty satisfying itself.

Catching a fish from a stocked lake just doesn’t give the same sense of satisfaction as a monster wild one, but that doesn’t mean it’s not fun and worth your while. And hell, many lakes, even remote ones, across the country are stocked regularly to sustain populations.

Seeing what looks to be hundreds of beautiful rainbow trout making their way through the tube and to the lake is just awesome.

I bet they would taste some good after a long day over top of a fire. Add in a few drinks and some good buddies and that’s about as good as any day can get.

According to the description, this scene comes to us from Maple Valley, Washington:

“Twice a year one of the residents (Lee) on our lake goes door to door to collect money so that we can keep our beautiful lake stocked with lots of fish. Most everyone is pretty good about chipping in.

I happened to be driving by and noticed the truck that stocks the lake was getting ready to release the trout. I pulled over to watch and decided to capture this interesting process. These aren’t just little babies, these are great big, mature fish that will give you a good fight.

Such a wonderful hobby and past time for the residents in our community to enjoy. I think you’ll find this video very unique.

Enjoy! Fun fact, it takes about 2 weeks for the fish to acclimate to their new environment.”

If you’re in the area this is lake with some beauties in it.
