Another new single from Kip Moore is dropping this Friday.

He just announced one called “If I Was Your Lover” will be released at the end of this week, and also shared a short teaser of part of the track on his Instagram:

“Get ready! ‘If I Was Your Lover’ out this Friday, August 26.”

Though there still hasn’t been any official announcement on when we might be able to expect a new record from the Georgia native, he said the album was done months ago, and then noted more recently that he stumbled on another song or two he wanted to include on the final tracklist and had to go back into the studio.

Kip released the the longtime fan-favorite, “Crazy One More Time,” as the lead single to the aforementioned (unnamed) album back in January, in addition to dropping “Fire on Wheels” in June.

He did previously confirm that there would be 13 brand new songs we’ve never heard before on the new record (including a duet with Ashley McBryde), though it’s hard to say if that number has gone up since he announced that back in May:

“Just officially finished record #5. Sealed. 13 songs none of you guys have heard. We ain’t messin round with this one.

Cheers to all the loyal fans. Thank you. We do it for you.”

It feels like it’s been a long time since we’ve gotten new music from Kip, as he put out his Wild World album back in 2020 and has been out on the road touring constantly since everything opened back up after COVID.

I’m always excited for whatever he has up his sleeve, though, so now the countdown is on until we get to hear the whole song on Friday.
