I know I’m not the only one obsessively following this manhunt for Alabama inmate Casey White and Vicky White, the corrections officer who helped him escape.
If you haven’t been following the wild story, it all started last Friday when Vicky, the Assistant Director of Corrections for the Lauderdale County jail in Florence, Alabama, left with the inmate Casey White for what she claimed was a mental health evaluation at the courthouse. (Despite having the same last name, the two aren’t related – which is a good thing given what we know now).
Vicky also claimed that after she dropped Casey off at the courthouse, she would be going to a doctor’s appointment because she wasn’t feeling well.
The pair never made it to the courthouse though, and her transport car was found abandoned in the parking lot a few minutes away from the jail.
Since then we’ve learned that there wasn’t actually a mental health evaluation scheduled, and the pair had apparently been involved in some sort of “special relationship” while he was incarcerated.
We’ve also learned that Vicky White had recently filed for retirement, and had also sold her house valued at around a quarter of a million dollars for just $90,000 cash. And police have released photos of a car that Vicky had apparently staged in the parking lot where her police cruiser was found, which the pair likely used to get away in after the escape.
Sheriff Rick Singleton just told me Vicky White purchased the vehicle seen in this photo last week in Lauderdale County. It was parked in the parking lot of Florence Square on Thursday night, Singleton says. @WAAYTV pic.twitter.com/vsvLcaskY5

An arrest warrant has since been issued for Vicky White for apparently helping Casey White escape the jail, and a manhunt has been going on ever since to try to find the modern day Bonnie and Clyde. (The dude’s 6’9″, so he’s bound to stand out at some point).
Casey White was supposed to be serving a 75-year prison sentence for a series of crimes including home invasion and carjacking, and he had also been recently been charged with (and reportedly confessed to) a 2015 murder-for-hire.
The whole insane saga is going to make for an incredible movie someday, but the first order of business is to find the armed and incredibly dangerous pair.
So is it time to call in the Dog?
The internet has been begging Dog the Bounty Hunter to get involved with the search for Vicky and Casey White, who apparently haven’t been spotted since it was realized that they had run off.
I think it’s time for @DogBountyHunter to take a trip to Alabama. pic.twitter.com/cRn1YBH4vN

Of course Dog was involved in another high profile manhunt not long ago when he went out searching for suspected murderer Brian Laundrie, who was on the run after allegedly murdering his fiancée Gabby Petito.
And though he got a lot of media attention, and kept claiming that he was finding things that proved he was on the right trail, it turns out he wasn’t even looking in the right spot after Laundrie’s body was discovered to have been in a swamp the whole time.
So maybe this is Dog’s shot to redeem himself.
The whole story already feels like a reality show anyway. Might as well add a TV star bounty hunter to the plot.
A manhunt is underway for inmate Casey White and jail official Vicky White, who disappeared Friday.
