On This Date: Reba And Brooks & Dunn Release Their #1 Duet “If You See Him/If You See Her” In 1998

You can’t beat a good old fashioned ’90s heartbreak ballad.

And on this date in 1998, Reba and Brooks & Dunn released their duet “If You See Him/If You See Her”. It peaked at #1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks, giving Reba her 29th #1 single, and Brooks & Dunn their 12th.

Written by Terry McBride, Jennifer Kimball and Tommy Lee James, the song served as the title track to each artist’s respective 1998 albums.

And the music video is equally as good as the song, where Reba and Ronnie are trying to get over a breakup with each other, and Kix is the friend caught in the middle trying to help each of them sort their feelings out.

It’s such a timestamp, too, because at the end, Reba calls Kix and he answers on his car phone. When was the last time you saw one of those? Ah, the nostalgia…

I had honestly forgotten about this gem, but I’m a sucker for a good duet, so I’ll probably have it on repeat for the rest of the day now.

This is country music at its finest:
