Koe Wetzel is back in peak form for this tour.
He kicked off a massive, headlining North American tour earlier this month, and plans to put out a new album sometime in the near future.
We already know he’s been in the studio, working on his latest project down at the Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, Texas, and might also have a little something coming with Diplo.
Koe previously elaborated on the sound of the album, saying it will be along the lines of the alternative sound we know and love already before he dives headfirst into a different, full-blown country album, which he also plans to do as soon as he finishes up the record he’s working on now.
And last night, the tour made a stop near me in Columbia, South Carolina (which I’ve renamed “Koelumbia” until further notice, FYI), and of course, in true Koe fashion, it was filled with plenty of unique one-liners that made absolutely no sense.
I should’ve kept a running list of all them to share with y’all (which I will do next time) because even when they’re confusing, they’re so damn funny… I did manage to write the most important one down, though:

The real reason I’m here is to tell you about a new, unreleased song from the aforementioned record he has coming. He previously played it at a tour stop in St. Louis, but last night, he was filming a live version for something related to the new project.
When he introduced the new one a few weeks back, he introduced it like this:
“This song is called, ‘I Once Had Sex With An Armadillo But Then Thought Twice About It Because Armadillos Can Carry Leprosy And I Don’t Want Leprosy.’”
Based on the lyrics, I’d guess it’s probably titled “April Showers,” but last night, he introduced it by telling everyone about the live recording, and also saying that it was called “Fuck The Name” when someone apparently prompted him to say what it’s called:
“Y’all act as stupid as fuckin’ possible. I know y’all don’t know this song, but we’re gonna play it for ya.
Here we go, this is it. ‘Fuck the name’, that’s it.”
So I guess we still don’t have an official name, but it’s a kickass tune regardless. And if you’ve never seen Koe live before, what the heck are you doin’?
He puts on one on of the most exciting, high-energy concerts I’ve ever been to, and the man loves him some pyro. So yeah… his shows are, quite literally, fire:
