Morgan Wallen Responds To Madison Square Garden’s “Let’s Go Brandon” Chant With Dad Joke: “My Name’s Not Brandon”

“My name’s not Brandon…”

Honestly, that might be the best response of I’ve heard to that.

It’s no secret that “Let’s Go Brandon” chants have been common at concerts, football stadiums, golf courses, NASCAR races… pretty much anywhere a  large crowd of people gathers.

Of course, the popular crowd chant got started during a NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Talladega after Brandon Brown took the checkered flag and the crowd was clearly chanting “F*ck Joe Biden” as Brown was being interviewed.

NBC reporter Kelli Stavast did her best to spin it, claiming the crowd was chanting “Let’s go Brandon,” but it didn’t work.

The phrase has since become ubiquitous as an insult to President Joe Biden. It’s popped up on signs and banners and on t-shirts, and there are multiple songs called “Let’s Go Brandon” on the iTunes charts.

We’ve seen it at Luke Bryan concerts, Jason Aldean concerts, Brantley Gilbert concerts, and more, but earlier this week, Morgan Wallen kicked off his Dangerous Tour, and we saw it there too… in New York City of all places (for anybody that thinks it’s unique to Texas or the South).

However, Morgan came out, and quiet hilariously, with a bit of dad humor, and said:

“My name’s not Brandon… “

Followed by:

“That’s all I’m gonna say on that one…”

After being forced to reschedule his first few shows due to the weather, Morgan kicked off his Dangerous Tour in front of more than 13,000 fans at Madison Square Garden.

The opening night also featured special guest performances from Ernest (who joined for (Flower Shops”) and Lindsay Ell (who joined Hardy), as well as opening support from Larry Fleet and Hardy.

A few songs into his set, he addressed the crowd:

“My name is Morgan Wallen.

We were supposed to start our tour in Indiana, but the good Lord had other plans, so for 2022, our first show is right here in Madison Square Garden.

Make it hard for the next people who come see us on tour.”
