When I saw Cincinnati Bengals’ quarterback Joe Burrow walking into Arrowhead Stadium for the AFC Championship game against the Kansas City Chiefs, I knew the game was over.
But, I also felt like I was having some strange déjà vu…
I knew I’d seen the look somewhere before.
The black turtleneck, the icy chain around the neck (with REAL diamonds), it was eerily familiar…
And I realized, no other than Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson rocked nearly that exact same look years back.
However, I’m not sure if I could’ve recalled that even if you put a gun to my head and said “figure it out or die,” until the man himself posted a picture to Instagram with a caption that read:
“Just two bad ass dudes with a strong drip game and big football dreams.
One played at LSU. The other played at THE U.
One won a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP with the Tigers. The other one won a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP with the Canes.
One’s Head Coach was Ed Ogeron at LSU. The other one’s Defensive Line Coach was Ed Ogeron at THE U.
One was selected first overall in the NFL Draft. The other one was never drafted, but has become an owner of the XFL.
One is confidently going to the Super Bowl and preparing to cement his NFL LEGACY.
While the other one unconfidently failed at his dream of playing in the NFL and went on to become only famous for rocking a fanny pack, fake jewelry and a fucked up haircut.”
Damn, the resemblance is uncanny…
Both one national championships, and both were coached by Ed Orgeron (AKA the “GOAT”) at some point in their careers.
Man, some things just come full circle ya know.
