Martinsville was WILD.
With it being the final race before the Cup Series Championship, and a number of drivers still looking to punch their ticket to the final, we knew it was gonna be crazy.
We didn’t know it was gonna be this crazy…
Denny Hamlin was throwing double birds after ramming Alex Bowman at the finish line, Brad Keselowski was trying to drive through the back of Kyle Busch coming out of the final turn… Truex Jr. was trying to hang on to a playoff spot… it was chaotic short track racing at its finest.
We already covered the scene of the of the Hamlin/Bowman beef (full story here), but perhaps even more explosive was the post race message Kyle Busch had for Brad Keselowski.
Brad slammed into the back of Kyle’s #18 car after the final turn, and since there was no chance of him (or Kyle) making it into the Championship round at that point, Rowdy was pissed.
And he went OFF.
“He drills my ass coming out of 4 for no reason… where was he going? What was he going to do? Spin me out? He was trying to do a Harvick is what he was trying to do.
For what? For second place? To do what? He wasn’t going to transfer through with that. It’s freaking retarded. So stupid.
I should beat the shit out of him right now is what I should do. But that doesn’t do me any good either.”

You can see the contact here:
With Busch and Keselowski needing the win to earn a championship spot, it looked like #AlexBowman was a sitting duck on the final restart. Fortunately for the No. 48, Bowman was able to launch off the line and pull away for his first #Martinsville win!#NASCAR pic.twitter.com/CdVTkZfk1R

Brad didn’t address Kyle’s comments in his post race interview…

He did follow up with a Tweet, which more or less acknowledged Kyle’s comments, but refused to comment and participate in the social media back and forth.
Since some people are copying me on social media with other’s comments I’ll say this in response-
I used to get mad when people said mean things about me and respond out of anger. Now I just feel bad for them. For their family’s sake, I have no desire to go any deeper than that.

All I can say is I can’t WAIT for Phoenix next weekend.
Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, Denny Hamlin and Martin Truex Jr. will be racing for a Cup Series title, but it sounds like we might have some side stories to keep an eye on as well.
LET’S GO.
THAT’S IT! YOUR @NASCAR CUP SERIES #CHAMPIONSHIP4 IS SET!!!!
Now let’s crown a champion 🏆 pic.twitter.com/HJ00iKeXV5
