Tom Brady Cracks Jokes During Tampa Bay Buccaneers White House Visit: “I Lost Track Of One Down… They Started Calling Me Sleepy Tom”

So, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers took a lil’ trip up to the White House today to meet President Biden to celebrate their big Super Bowl win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

The team got to meet everybody at the White House, eat and visit with the President, and receive recognition from the whole nation on its biggest stage.

Of course, Tom Brady was the guy to give the speech for the team, as he’s a team captain and the undisputed GOAT (I will die on this hill). But anyways, Brady got up to the podium, talked about the team effort it took to win, and even made a few political jokes while he was at it…

And not gonna lie, regardless of your political affiliation, it was pretty fucking hilarious. Tom Brady is a lowkey funny dude, even when he’s not drunk off his ass during a Super Bowl celebration.

He kicked it off by saying:

“Not a lot of people, you know, think that we could’ve won. In fact about 40% of the people still don’t think we won.”

President Biden responded:

“I understand that.”

Brady continued the jest by saying:

“We had a game in Chicago where I forgot what down it was. I lost track of one down in 21 years of playing… And they started calling me, ‘Sleepy Tom.’ Why would they do that to me!”

Ol’ Brady got jokes.

Of course, he was referencing those who think the election was rigged, and the nickname “Sleepy Joe,” given to President Biden (by former President Trump) who often forgets things.

You have to respect the humor though, it’s pretty unpopular these days to laugh at the expense of someone in your political party, or politics in general, but if there wasn’t an element of fun during these championship team White House visits, the whole thing would be insufferable.

Plus, if we don’t learn to laugh a little, none of us are gonna make it out of this thing alive.
