In high school, hot mom jokes are all the rage.
I mean, it’s kind of par for the course, right? Even if your mom isn’t a total babe, you’re gonna hear the occasional “your mom” joke in high school.
But not on draft night… that’s your night to shine.
Welp, for former BYU quarterback and the #2 overall pick, Zach Wilson, his mom once again stole the show. She was the talk of Twitter on draft night and at the tail-end of his first interview with the new Jets QB, WFAN radio host Craig Carton asked him straight up about his “hot mom.”
“Your mom has become the lead story… and I say that respectfully because people are like, ‘the star of the first round of the draft is Mrs. Wilson because she’s a very attractive woman.’
And I’m just wondering how awkward that is for you, that you just got picked second overall in the draft, and the focus is, wow, his mom is really hot.”
I’m sure you’ve dealt with this your whole life, but now it’s playing out on Broadway. How awkward is that for you?”
Shocker… Zach isn’t a fan:
“Yeah, it’s not my favorite for sure. I like to keep her out of the spotlight. She’s an awesome lady and I love having her support.”
To which Craig replied:
“I respect that … And I had to bring it up because it’s on the front page of the papers today.”
And some folks weren’t happy about the comment.
However, Craig spoke out in his own defense, citing the New York Post who ran a story about:
And while we can debate on whether or not it’s a stupid and tasteless thing to bring up, Craig wasn’t exactly wrong…
Twitter had a field day with it:
Big congrats to Zach (and his mom, I guess) but I have one question…
Is it football season yet?
