Mama Wallen speaks out.

In the wake of the controversy and fallout surrounding Morgan Wallen‘s use of a racial slur caught on video, Morgan’s sister Ashlyne came to her brother’s defense, condemning the behavior in the video but calling for Morgan to be given a chance to learn from his mistakes.

“I know my brother. He is my best friend, and although what he said was completely unacceptable, I know in my heart that it did not come from a place of hate or malicious intent. Should he have said it? No. But should he be given the opportunity to correct his mistake and learn from it? Yes

He is not the kind of person who would ever want to hurt anyone, but contrary to popular belief, he’s also human. And sometimes, humans make big mistakes.”

And his sister Mikaela also posted on Instagram in support of Morgan.

And now their mother is speaking up in support of Morgan.

In a post on her Instagram story, Lesli Wallen praised CPAC (the Conservative Political Action Conference) for playing Morgan’s music and calling out others for cancelling her son.

“CPAC is playing Morgan Wallen, they don’t hold to Cancel Culture. I stand with Morgan Wallen who made a mistake and is paying dearly for it. Country Music Associations businesses, radio stations, and agencies Morgan Wallen is not a racist, stop using him as a pawn.

Forgiveness and love is needed on all sides not hate. Hate produces more hate. This isn’t solving problems. Your round table discussions are not solving problems. Get out in neighborhoods and help our children and youth of all colors that are suffering. Educate, mentor love.”

Lesli ended her post with a link to the Blexit Foundation’s website, an organization founded by conservative commentator Candace Owens.

While Morgan has been suspended by his label and pulled from many radio stations, some local stations are continuing to play his music, and fans have made it clear that they’re standing behind him as they continue to push his music to the top of the charts.
