Since the Morgan Wallen news first broke this past Tuesday, everybody and their mother has weighed in with their opinions on the matter, and most recently, we heard from someone very close to Morgan… his sister.
Sharing the post to Instagram, Morgan’s sister Ashlyne condemned his behavior, but like Jimmie Allen, called for forgiveness and the opportunity for Morgan to learn and grow.
“There are only 3 things you should ever do about a mistake: admit it, learn from it, and don’t repeat it.”
She went on to decry cancel culture and hateful keyboard warriors before sharing her thoughts on the person she knows her brother to be:
“I know my brother. He is my best friend, and although what he said was completely unacceptable, I know in my heart that it did not come from a place of hate or malicious intent. Should he have said it? No. But should he be given the opportunity to correct his mistake and learn from it? Yes
He is not the kind of person who would ever want to hurt anyone, but contrary to popular belief, he’s also human. And sometimes, humans make big mistakes.”
