A moment of silence for the 500 bottles of booze we lost this week…
At an Aldi grocery store in Stevenage, England, a woman was filmed having an absolute meltdown for reasons that still remain unclear. According to ABC News, the woman started smashing bottles off the shelf, destroying approximately 500 bottles before she was stopped by security. The value of the alcohol is reportedly in the neighborhood of $130,000.
“I’ve never seen anything like that before in my life,” said one shopper. “The supermarket floor was covered in shattered glass and booze. She didn’t say a word the whole time and had a very vacant look on her face.”
One shopper tried to calm the woman down, and she threw a bottle of gin at him. She was eventually arrested and taken to the hospital to treat an injury she sustained to her hand during the rampage.

Clearly, this woman is going through some things, and there’s real evidence to prove that smashing things helps you relieve stress, but I’m pretty sure there are places you can go to that let you smash things without earning yourself a trip to jail.
Also, 500 bottles? How did nobody stop this woman? None of the employees saw this madness happening and thought “maybe I should stop this massive destruction of store property?” None of the customers?
Twenty years ago, someone would’ve just grabbed her and dragged her ass out of there. Nowadays, we just stand there and film it…
