Sturgill Simpson Offers First Taste Of New Music In Second ‘Sound & Fury’ Trailer

Is this the first taste of that “sleazy, steamy rock n’ roll” that Sturgill promised us?

When Sturgill Simpson first announced his new record Sound & Fury, a collaborative album alongside a Japanese anime film of the same name, we really didn’t get much in terms of what the album might sound like. Other than Sturgill’s “sleazy, steamy, psychedelic, rock n’ roll” comment, we’ve all been pretty clueless… until now.

In the new trailer, we presumably get our first sneak peek at that rock ‘n roll guitar that Sturgill was talking about, combined of course, with some video game-esque synth sounds. It’s definitely different, but we all knew it was going to be. And, while this sounds like it’s only just an intro, you can’t help but feel pretty jacked if you’re a Sturgill fan.

Sound & Fury is due out sometime later this fall, stay tuned for more details.
