“I’ll Get Killed For That” — Ronnie Dunn Has Hilarious Reaction To Kacey Musgraves’ “Disco Balls” Gift At Nashville Show

Ronnie Dunn

That’s too good.

Earlier this week, Kacey Musgraves had a heck of a surprise for fans at her Nashville show, where she headlined the Bridgestone Arena as part of her Middle of Nowhere Tour, as she brought out the legendary Ronnie Dunn of Brooks & Dunn.

Of course, Kacey and Ronnie have worked together in the past, as Kacey was of course featured on the duo’s first edition of their Reboot album which was released in 2019, and her version of “Neon Moon” with Kix and Ronnie remains my favorite out of both projects to this day (they did a Reboot II in 2024 with different artists).

In March, Kacey actually surprised unsuspecting fans who were out for a night on Broadway when she showed up to Robert’s Western World in Nashville dressed as Ronnie to sing “Neon Moon.” At Robert’s, Kacey jumped onstage in the full Ronnie get-up, with the right jeans, shirt and belt, and she even had drawn on beard and wig… I mean, she got so detailed she even had some of Ronnie’s most prominent tattoos on too, including the “Cowboy” one on his forearm.

There’s really not much context for this, so I don’t really know what made her decide to do it, but it’s hilarious and I’m actually surprised anyone even figured out it was her, but that voice is unmistakable:

And in a post on Instagram, Kacey shared a video of herself in the costume, along with Brooks & Dunn’s “Play Something Country” in the background, captioning the photo by alluding to her newest release “Dry Spell” saying:

“OMW to end your dry spell.”

Hilarious… she also joked in her own comments section that “Ronnie did nothing to deserve this”:

“Btw Ronnie did nothing to deserve this.”

But I think he was into it, because Ronnie also left a comment saying how good he looked:

“Damn, I look good! RD.”

Again, I still don’t really know what this is about, but it’s so funny:

So of course, she had to run it back last night, and during the show, she stopped and told fans she had to go get someone and she would be right back. Kacey then brought Ronnie out to duet “Neon Moon”… but she was dressed as Ronnie once again, too. Kacey is so funny, and while I can’t say I’m surprised she did this, I think it’s downright hilarious and so fun.

It looks like Ronnie got a kick out of it, too:

And after the show, Ronnie shared a hilarious behind-the-scenes video of everything, which was just hilarious. I feel like he didn’t really know what was going on or why half the time, which made it all that much funnier because he was so supportive anyways.

The first thing you see is Kacey telling Ronnie he “doesn’t have this kind of cake”:

“The real Ronnie doesn’t have this kind of cake, you know what I mean.”

To which he admits:

“I don’t have it.”

Then, you see Ronnie in a dressing room backstage admiring the “disco balls” keychain Kacey gifted him, which is a much smaller replica of the prop she’s been floating around on while signing “Rhinestoned” this tour.

He held them in an interesting spot, and joked that eh would get “killed for that,” but he wasn’t afraid to die and it was hilarious:

“We’re in Nashville, we were just here. We’re doing a Kacey Musgraves little walk on for ‘Neon Moon.’ This is a little party favor from Kacey. I don’t know what it is, it looks like she got a disco thing… I’ll get killed for that. Let’s do it, I ain’t afraid to die. I’m gonna die anyway.”

Too funny…

They show some more shots of Kacey and Ronnie backstage, and then we see Kacey and her crew toasting to Ronnie being there that night:

“I just wanna give a big cheers, the legendary Ronnie Dunn is here with us.”

When they come off stage after singing “Neon Moon” with Kacey dressed as Ronnie, her tells her she looks “damn good”:

“You look damn good, that’s all I’m saying.”

Kacey once again joked about her curves:

“You don’t have these curves though, Ronnie.”

“I got no problem with my manhood. Is there a question here? All my cowboy buddies headed for Houston, it’s gonna be an a** whooping for me, now.”

Ronnie shared the video with the perfect caption:

“What’s cake?”

Classic… these two together are a real trip:

It’s true, Ronnie Dunn has never looked so good… or voluptuous.
