Season 2 is right around the corner.
Landman’s second act is set to release on November 16th, almost exactly a year after the show’s first season (it aired on November 17th, 2024). The star-studded cast of Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore, Andy Garcia, Sam Elliott, Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, and Michelle Randolph will return for Season two of the beloved show, and I’m sure it will be just as wild as the first season… Taylor Sheridan knows drama, that’s for sure.
The second season’s official synopsis implies that a boiling point will be reached one way or another as Thornton’s crisis executive and “fixer” Tommy Norris will certainly be forced to put out some fires:
“As oil rises from the earth, so do secrets – and Tommy Norris’s (Thornton) breaking point may be closer than he realizes. Facing mounting pressure from M-Tex Oil, Cami Miller (Moore), and the shadow of his kin, survival in West Texas isn’t noble – it’s brutal. And sooner or later something’s got to break.”
Of course, Thornton, who plays Tommy Norris, is an absolute star and makes the show what it is, but his on-screen wife/ex-wife, I guess, Ali Larter, who plays Angela Norris, is easily one of the best characters too, in my humble opinion.
She’s beautiful and wickedly funny, and you just never know what she has up her sleeve… the scene where she goes to the strip club with her daughter and the nursing home residents is a perfect example.
But Larter admits that she’s not exactly just like Angela off-screen… in an interview with People, Larter admits that she’s been empowered by the role in many ways, as we often see Angela in a skin-tight dress or bikini, which has been a challenge for her (yes, as hard as that is to believe). She says she’s had to just own it and not second guess herself:
“Anytime you have to put on a bathing suit and walk in front of anybody, it’s really difficult. When I look around, the sexiest women I know are the women that own it. So, part of getting there with Angela is owning it. There is no space in my mind for insecurity — I’m not allowing any of that into my space when I play Angela.
Angela walks through life without the fear of judgment of others. She makes up her own rules. And for me, that’s so exciting to play, because I’m not like that. And you really can’t be like that in most areas of life if you want to fit into the societal norms.”
It’s hard to believe someone as stunning and talented as Larter feels that way, but you would never, ever know it by how great she plays the role.
She admits it’s been “freeing and so exciting” for her to play someone with so much sex appeal and confidence, and in many ways, it’s thanks to the shows creator Taylor Sheridan:
“Taylor is a provocateur. He loves to write characters that make people respond, that initiate a reaction, a feeling. I think that what’s incredible about our show and a lot of the shows that Taylor makes is that they’re all wildly original and authentic to themselves, and that’s what I think is really exciting.”
In terms of working with Thornton, Larter says they bring out the best in each other and they never have an “inauthentic beat.” That aspect of their relationship certainly comes across on-screen, and I absolutely cannot wait for Season two of Landman to start again very soon.
Speaking of Ali Larter’s incredible body and spicier scenes, she previously took to Instagram and revealed that there will be more “spicy scenes” featured in this season, and of course, it has taken a lot of work to get to the place she wants to be at when filming them.
She shared an extensive list of everything she’s done to get her body right, and it’s beyond impressive:
“For all my ladies out there that work hard to be their best everyday. Let’s hear how you do it? I had to shoot a bikini scene for my show last week. Playing a character that is so comfortable in her body drives me. So here’s how I prep and what I eat for a day on set.
-Bed by 11pm and I take magnesium and GABA.
-Wake at 5:30am. Drink celery juice and coffee and hit the gym by 6.
-Do a 30 minute intervals run and 10 minutes of core.
-Shower, dunk my face in ice water, slather with oil cause of my spray tan.
-Leave for work at 7am. Go through the works and blend out my tan.
-Drink another coffee and lemon water. Eat eggs and turkey bacon.
-Put on Angela’s diamond cross which is my suit of armor for this woman.
-10 minutes of deep breathing to break down the BS I tell myself and redirect my energy to a calm, confident, and creative state while I look over my material.
Then go walk the walk! Let me know how you build your self up to look and feel your best.”
I mean, it is most definitely working for her…
