It Looks Like Theo Von Actually Got His Date With Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia’s Mom

Theo, you dawg…

Vanderbilt is one of the most fun stories of the 2025 college football season. The perennial basement dwellers of the SEC have turned things around in a big way, currently sitting at #9 in the AP poll with a 7-1 record after beating #15 Mizzou yesterday in Nashville.

The turnaround is in no small part thanks to their outspoken quarterback Diego Pavia. The former New Mexico State quarterback has ruffled some feathers with his trash talking, but he’s also managed to back it up with his play on the field as he’s seemingly brought a new swagger to a program that never really seemed to think they could win on any given Saturday.

And there may be nobody more excited about the success of the Commodores and Pavia than…comedian Theo Von.

Von is a Nashville resident and Vandy fan who seems to have stricken up quite the relationship with the QB. The two are quite the characters so it’s no wonder they get along. But Theo actually might have an eye on another member of the family: Pavia’s mom, Antoinette Padilla.

Last month, Theo was on the sideline as Vandy beat the South Carolina Gamecocks when he revealed that Pavia promised to set him up on a date with his mom if the Commodores won the game:

“She’s a nurse, and my goal is I would like to marry a nurse one day, so that’s why. He was thinking about that.”

But it sounded like Theo was already getting cold feet before the game was even over:

“I don’t know, I like being his friend, I don’t want to end up being like his stepdad or something, you know? … We’ll see what happens.”

Oh, and for anyone wondering, this is Pavia’s mom:

Now, Theo is 45 years old so he’s probably close in age to Mama Pavia. But Diego previously revealed that there were some conditions Theo had to meet before he could date his mom:

It doesn’t seem like Pavia ever got his date with Tate McRae. But Theo may just have gotten his shot with Diego’s mom anyway…

Last night after Vandy’s big win over Missouri, Diego Pavia joined Shannon Sharpe and Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson on their show Nightcap – but there was somebody else at his house to crash the interview.

In the middle of the interview, Pavia turned the camera around to show none other than Theo Von standing behind him…alongside of his mom.

Theo jumped on and joked about Vanderbilt’s success, claiming that there are more recruits visiting Vandy these days than there were when he first started going to games:

“They got more recruits here now. When I first came the first game they had probably 6 recruits on the sidelines. They had one dude in a wheelchair, he was a recruit. I’m like, ‘What is he going to do?’ But they said, ‘We might need him.’ I said, ‘The Lord needs him. Just give him some rest.’

But today they had like 150 recruits, man, it’s wild. It’s different.”

Obviously Theo is hilarious, but it seems like people were more intrigued by the fact that he was hanging out with Pavia’s mom:

Good for you, Theo. One big happy family.
