A man of the people.
Over the past two years, Riley Green has cemented himself as a certified star on all fronts. From a pure music perspective, he’s grabbed three straight #1s with the likes of his appearance on Ella Langley’s “you look like you love me,” his second collaboration with the fellow Alabama native, “Don’t Mind If I Do” and his steamy ballad, “Worst Way.” Additionally, he’s stirred the pot on social media a countless number of times thanks to seemingly never-ending dating rumors surrounding him and various artists such as Langley. Undoubtedly, Green has quickly become one of the biggest stars in country music lately. With that being said, however, it seems as if he’s not just limiting himself to music in the future.
Earlier in the year, the Alabama native made his acting debut on Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone spinoff series, Marshals, appearing in four episodes alongside Luke Grimes back in April. Though Marshals, as a whole, didn’t receive as much love compared to other entries in the Yellowstone franchise, fans of the “I Wish Grandpas Never Died” singer absolutely loved him venturing into acting.
All that is to say, he’s arguably been the busiest star in all of country music. However, it looks like he still finds time every now and then to take a look at what’s currently on Facebook Marketplace.
Over the weekend, Shane Allen, the owner of Front Beach Softwash, a soft-wash company in Panama City Beach, Florida, took to Facebook to upload the story of the “I Wish Grandpas Never Died” singer himself making a quick Marketplace pickup.
As it turns out, he was selling a Gibson J-45, one of the most popular guitars among country artists. When he got a message about the instrument, he realized it was none other than Green who made the offer. Amazed that it was actually the country superstar, Allen said that he was blown away that the 37-year-old singer/songwriter actually met up with him instead of sending out a random member of his team.
Allen would also add that selling it to an artist as popular as Green made him feel better about selling the instrument, which usually retails from $2,000-5,000, before thanking him.
“Didn’t really wanna sell this girl, but thought I would throw it on Marketplace. When I got to the agreed-upon meeting spot, it turned out to be Riley Green himself who was interested in buying it. Let me tell ya, folks. This guy didn’t have to meet up with this regular Joe. Heck, he could have sent anybody to buy my guitar! Instead, he invited me to meet him and look at the guitar. When I saw that he was the one buying it, well, it made selling it feel a little better! I hope to see him throwing them pick marks on her soon. There will be another J-45 in this guy’s future… Thanks, Duckman!”
